Hibiscus is the flower of the moment, Ralph Lauren says, and it’s popping up in new fragrances like Ralph Lauren Summer Romance, as well as teas, cocktails and cosmetics. A new fresh fruity floral, Ralph Lauren Summer Romance has what it calls a sophisticated island spirit that awakens memories of a quintessential summer romance. The fragrance takes a tropical twist on the classic romance scent with blooming hibiscus, exotic fruits, and milky sweet musk. The bottle is reminiscent of a vibrant pink sunset.

According to a study by scientists at Tufts University, hibiscus tea may actually lower blood pressure, thus making rose and hibiscus enriched Hari tea a healthful drink of choice.

L’Oreal Paris embraces the hibiscus trend with Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour in a hibiscus color, as does Yves Saint Laurent in the designer’s new Gloss Pur Lip Glass #9 in Pur Hibiscus. Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer is another example as it features hibiscus extracts.

The original Romance fragrance joined the Ralph Lauren portfolio in 1998, twenty years after the introduction of the first Ralph Lauren fragrances, Polo Ralph Lauren and Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Since then, Romance has consistently ranked in the top 10, celebrated for the popular appeal of the floral scent and its iconic advertising campaign shot by Bruce Weber.
